I had heard that the new Disney film, “Frozen,” was a “fairytale,” but did you know that it’s not? It’s a real character, a real person in the movie who lives in a magical land. “Frozen” is not just a story about a princess and her frozen little brother.
It is a fairytale. And it is not just a story about a princess and her frozen little brother. It is a fairytale.
The Frozen movie is set in a fairytale-like setting in the kingdom of Arendelle, a realm full of snow and ice where all sorts of fairytale creatures live. The story follows Elsa, a princess whose kingdom is threatened by the arrival of a snow giant named Frozen, who turns out to be a cold-hearted, selfish, manipulative villain who causes the kingdom to fall apart.
It's not exactly a fairy tale, more like a soap opera.
It's definitely a fairy tale. But it's also a fairytale with a plot that doesn't quite match the plot of a fairy tale. This is not to say it isn't a good story. It's just not a fairy tale and not a story that is likely to draw in a wide audience.
I mean that in a good way. Like if a story is a story for kids who like to watch the Disney version of it, then that is a fairytale. But to me, Fairy-tales are stories with a darker more tragic side to them. In the case of Elsa’s story, this dark side is the villain’s greed and selfishness. It’s the villain who is ultimately responsible for the kingdom’s fall.
Elsa's story is not a story for kids. It is a story for adults who like to see the dark side of fairy tales. I think it's great that it is being adapted for, well, we dunno, adult audiences. It is also great that it is being adapted for the big screen. The fact that it is being adapted into an animated film is a great indication of how far filmmakers like Pixar have come.
The first thing that struck me about the Elsa story is its scale.
The story takes place over a large span of time and over a large group of people. It is not a story for kids.
Elsa and her sister Anna have lived happily ever after for a long time in the kingdom of Arendelle. But then a terrible tragedy happens and everything falls apart. Anna is left to care for her sister, while Elsa goes to the palace and takes care of her sister. Then Elsa becomes enamored with an old man named Hans, the king's son. She marries him, and he and his family are happy.
The story, even in its short length is a strange amalgam of a fairy tale, a horror movie, and a detective story. In each of those elements, you have an idea of what you want to see the story to be about. In the fairy tale, the princess is cursed into a state of eternal youth, only to find out her powers are limited. In the horror, there is a dead body and a bunch of weird stuff is happening.
