Nugget Burnout Is Real. Here’s How to Avoid It

Nugget

You’re reading about Nugget Burnout. In case you haven’t heard, Nugget Burnout is a term you’ll hear more and more often. It’s an epidemic that seems to have impacted nearly everyone, so I’ll give you three tips to start preventing it.

In essence, if you are a gamer, you're probably more than a little bit burned out. You might be tired of games that force you to constantly check your stats or feel a need to do what the developers want you to do so you can survive. But a whole lot of people seem to be addicted to video games, and you might not be one of them.

I know if you're burned out from a game, you don’t really need to be addicted to it, but I think it is important to know what to look out for and avoid.

For starters, be honest with yourself about how you're feeling.

If you're burned out from a game, make sure you’re not burning out from something else. In my case, I’ve been burned out on the Internet for years. It starts with finding new information, playing video games, and then spending hours on end on the Internet, never getting back to where I was.

If you are addicted to a game, get a game monitor or a screen recorder. If you're addicted to the Internet, then a phone or tablet would probably be a better choice.

I've been burned out on the Internet for years, and I’ve been burnt out by the Internet before too. I had a great relationship with the Internet until it all stopped working. It was just like, “What the hell?”

I was just like, “Huh, I think I’m addicted.

I think it was just like that person who just had to take a break from the Internet because he just couldn’t get it to work right. You know, the Internet is just like, WTF, I just need to go smoke.

The Internet sucks, but if you know anything about addiction, you know the best solution is to simply quit. I’m convinced that most of us have been burned by this one addiction, and unless we fix it, it’ll always be back. With a little bit of self-awareness, you’ll find that the Internet is really just like, WTF can I do with my life besides smoking.

Well, we found a simple solution to Nugget Burnout, but it’s probably not for everyone. As it turns out, Nugget Burnout is actually an addiction that occurs when we’re not even aware we’re doing it. The problem is that most of us don’t know the difference between “habit” and “addiction.
